The speed controller is a fully electronic device designed to control the speed of the diesel engine with fast and accurate response to instantaneous load changes. This is a closed loop control that controls the operation of the diesel engine when connected to a matching electronic actuator and the magnetic speed sensor signal used.
The engine speed information of the speed controller is usually obtained from a magnetic speed sensor. Any other signal generating device may be used to provide an alternating frequency suitable for the engine speed and meet the characteristics of voltage input and frequency range. The magnetic speed sensor is generally installed approximately in the iron teeth of the engine drive. This is usually a ring gear. The number of teeth passing through the magnetic speed sensor matches the speed of the engine.
When the speed signal is obtained by the controller, the signal is amplified and shaped by the internal circuit to provide an analog speed signal. If the speed sensor cannot detect the signal from the speed sensor, the output circuit of the speed controller will turn off all current to the actuator.
When the engine is running, the actuator can be adjusted from off to full fuel position. Once the generator rental
engine is started, after the engine speed adjustment is completed, the engine will reach its working speed under its adjustment. Ideally adjust the engine speed, the actuator will give enough current to maintain the ideal speed, independent of the load.
